Erik Pennebaker is a Chicago-based photographer who publishes an online photo journal, now in its 7th year. He works in both black and white and color. Although his photographic subjects are varied, his primary focus is the complex relationship between people, land, and structure that compromises the American experience. He travels extensively and says that for him, photography is a way of organizing and making meaning of diverse memories and experiences.
